A Heavy-Hitting Folder with a Surprisingly Slicey Bite
The McNees Dixon is the modern production evolution of Jonathan McNees’ original custom design from 2010, refined through more than a decade of real-world use and in-house development. This version features the popular Frag milling pattern, anodized in bronze, paired with McNees’ signature Atomic Stonewash MagnaCut blade for a rugged, no-nonsense finish that still feels refined.
At first glance, the Dixon looks like a tank. In use, it tells a different story. Every Dixon is hollow ground in-house at McNees Knives, giving the blade a much slicier profile than you would ever expect from such substantial blade stock. It’s a perfect example of form meeting function, where strength does not come at the expense of cutting performance.

Note from Lone Star Knife & Supply
The Dixon is one of those knives that surprises people the first time they cut with it. It looks thick, overbuilt, and aggressive, but that hollow grind changes everything. It just glides through material. The Frag pattern adds grip without feeling sharp or uncomfortable, and the bronze anodizing gives it a warm, earned look that gets better the more you carry it. This is a serious American-made knife that’s meant to be used.
⸻
Built to Perform, Finished to Last
The blade is crafted from CPM MagnaCut, heat treated to 63–64 HRC, striking an excellent balance between edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. McNees’ Atomic Stonewash finish hides wear well and reinforces the Dixon’s hard-use personality.
The titanium frame lock handle is milled on both the show side and the lock side, ensuring consistency in grip and appearance. Titanium hardware throughout keeps weight in check while maintaining durability, and the action is smooth and confident, exactly what you expect from McNees’ in-house finishing.
